In Japanese, Wa means harmony, the quiet balance between people, nature and space. The circle, the form that has no beginning and no end.
Portal Wa holds both meanings. It is a curve that closes upon itself and a place where everything finds its measure.
Like the air that moves across valleys and slowly carves the hills, its white surface swells, stretches and thins until it touches the ground in a single breath.
The form does not sit on the landscape. It seems to have been sculpted by it.
To enter Portal Wa is to step inside the wind’s path. The sky rests upon its arc, and the body finds stillness within the movement.
A threshold of harmony, where the space breathes again and the landscape becomes one with those who inhabit it.
